Jason was a computer science major in college and going into financial services never crossed his mind. However, early on in his career he was given a chance to work as an analyst at Morgan Stanley. And that experience, combined with his background in computer science, eventually led to the founding of Altruist.

- The client experience begins with relationships. It’s important to understand the difference between what clients want and what they actually need.
- Focus on people more than data but use data to fill the gaps and close the feedback loop.
- If you’re starting a fintech business, work to solve advisor’s problems, and help them do their best work for clients. Client experience is always critical.
- Lack of communication is a driving factor for clients leaving their financial advisors. As advisors, it’s your duty to stay in touch with your clients and keep them informed. Make use of technology where you can to lower the burden on your end.
