Jamie Hopkins is the Managing Partner of Wealth Solutions at Carson Group, a national wealth management firm that offers coaching and partnership to financial advisors. A nationally recognized writer, researcher and educator, Jamie is a regular contributor for Forbes, InvestmentNews and MarketWatch. He has been published in dozens of financial, educational and legal journals, and he’s the media’s go-to expert on retirement income planning and tax law.

Prior to joining Carson, Jamie was the co-Director of the New York Life Center for Retirement Income and a professor in the Retirement Income Program at the American College of Financial Services.

 

Jamie has done consulting work for Fortune 500 companies and is a highly sought after speaker in the financial services industry. He has developed educational materials for The American College’s CFP®, CLU®, ChFC® and RICP® programs, along with CE programs for attorneys.

 

Along with his regular media appearances, Jamie has also been featured on Wall Street Journal podcasts, NPR radio, Fox radio, and has made multiple appearances for NBC10 Philadelphia, PBS and USA Today.

Selected by InvestmentNews as one of the top 40 financial service professionals under the age of 40, Jamie’s impact on the financial services industry is well-recognized. Additionally, he was selected by the American Bar Association as one of the top 40 young attorneys in the country.

 

Jamie was also named a Lawyer of Distinction and elected to the prestigious role of an American Bar Foundation Fellow. He has won numerous awards for his articles and writing, and he’s is an editor for the Midwest Law Journal. Jamie was also listed as a “Mover & Shaker” in the reverse mortgage industry.

Jamie grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, where he attended Loyola Blakefield High School and swam for the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. He later attended Davidson College in North Carolina, where he was captain of the Division I men’s swimming team and received the Unsung Hero award.

 

He then attended Villanova Law School and graduated Cum Laude, earning the Leonard Levin Memorial Award for excelling in Decedents, Estates, & Trusts. After law school, he obtained his MBA at Villanova School of Business and graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma Honors. He also obtained his LL.M. in Taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law. Jamie also holds the prestigious CLU®, RICP® and ChFC® designations from The American College, and he sits on ReverseVision’s Board of Directors.
